Homemade Pho

Ingredients

Broth:

  • 2-3 T @betterthanbouillon
  • +6-8 c water
  • +1 yellow onion, sliced in big chunks
  • +2 garlic cloves, chopped in half
  • +2 tsp each, Salt & Pepper
  • +1 tsp minced ginger
  • +1/2 T fish sauce
  • +1 T soy sauce

Add- In’s:

  • beef, cut in chunks
  • sliced mushrooms
  • pho noodles (cooked separately according to package)

Toppings:

  • mung bean sprouts
  • cilantro

Instructions

To Cook:

  1. bring water to a boil and stir in the better than bouillon
  2. add in remaining broth ingredients and bring back to a boil
  3. turn to medium heat and let simmer for at least 30 min
  4. after the 30 min, scoop out the onions & garlic from the broth
  5. next, add in beef (or choice of meat) and mushrooms to the pot
  6. once meat is cooked through, you are ready to serve

Assembly:

  1. place noodles in a bowl
  2. pour in broth mixture
  3. top with sprout and cilantro

** to add spice to broth try adding sriracha, red chili paste or red pepper flakes to the broth mixture
